1977 Smike

The production of Smike in 1977 was one of the most ambitous junior stage productions at BHCHS. Directed by Pete Downey, David Pattrick and Ruth Prior, the show played to packed houses and was seen by more than 1,400 people including the writers of Smike, Simon May and Roger Holman, who attended the first night.

We are very grateful to David Pattrick for preserving the recording of the music. Click HERE to open a page from where you can download samples of the live recordings.

The full story of this and other contemporary productions was covered in a feature written by Jeremy Hays and Nick Allum for the May 2010 edition of Old Buckwellians News. If you are not a subscriber but would like to see the article please contact Graham Frankel.
