THE FOLLOWING PHOTOGRAPHS SHOW DAMAGE BY FLYING BOMB JULY 1944. The headmaster had taken the precaution of sending pupils home a few days earlier than the scheduled end of term. Had he not done so, it is likely that there would have been many casualties. The caretaker Mr Beresford, whose house is shown in the first photo, was permanently blinded.
